Distance (english version)

Lately, everybody has experienced the concept of distance to its fullest level. In fact, it is something that we probably have never paid so much attention to, until we had to live it i first person. I looked up the term distance in the Italian enciclopedia,Treccani, which defines it as "the length of a straight line connecting two points". So, despite the distance ,there is always a way to connect two situations. In fact, in this period more than ever we all felt distant but close to each other. There are various scenarios: those who have been forced to stay away from their family to protect it, those who were stuck in another country, those involved in long distance relationships, those who are far away for work and could not return to their loved ones. Not to mention that, during this crisis, distance is also a synonym of protection. We still do not know whether that meant 1 or 2 metres distance from each other but, what we do know is that this precautionary social distance is crucial to solve the situation we have been living in for the past three months now. The distance is therefore not always harmful. It can be healthy, used in order to protect and not only it is safe, it is also a way to widen perspectives by making us look at life through a different lense. I don't know if you've ever read that quote, I don't know whose it is, "What do you take to get better? Distances." In fact, distance is not only physical but also emotional distance is good for protecting us sometimes. It can be from a place that makes us feel misunderstood, from a person who deprives us of our energy or a job that makes us feel empty but also from ourselves and from the negative thoughts that sometimes chase us. We have to try to distance ourselves and keep our distance from everything that makes our good energy go down. And you, how do you keep your distance?
